Some people get buried in hanging coffins in cliffs.
Hanging coffins can be found in China, Indonesia, and the Philippines. Many of these coffins are hundreds, or even thousands of years old. This was a funeral practice of the Bo people in China. They can be found on cliff faces, either resting on natural ledges on the cliffs, or balancing on top of beams protruding out from the sides of the cliffs. It’s still not known exactly how the Bo were able to place coffins in such precarious positions. In recent years, some of them have fallen off the cliff, so a restoration project to stabilize the coffins had to go into effect.
