Budget session from Feb 25

The budget session of the Himachal Pradesh Assembly will commence from February 25. Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh will present the budget for the year 2016-17 on March 8.
The 11th session of the 12th Vidhan Sabha budget will have a total of 25 sittings with a week-long break from March 19. The notification in this regard was today issued by Sunder Singh Verma, secretary of the Vidhan Sabha. The House will also pass important Bills and other legislative business during the 25 sittings.
“I hope the members will utilize the session for fruitful discussion on various matters concerning the public and issues which demand immediate attention. I am confident that the House will find unanimity on issues paramount to state’s interest,” remarked Vidhan Sabha Speaker Brij Bihari Lal Butail.
The budget session will begin with the Governor’s address on February 25. The Chief Minister will present supplementary budget for the year 2015-16 on February 26 while the budget estimates for the financial year 2016-17 will be presented on March 8.
Following the presentation of the budget, the discussion on budget, demands and voting will take place and the Appropriation Bill will be passed. Two days have been separately earmarked for Private Members Business.
