Compassionate monks

Buddhist monks in Canada rescued over 600 lobsters from landing up in somebody’s kitchen. The monks from the Great Enlightenment Buddhist Institute Society bought eight crates of live lobsters and released them into the ocean waters off the coast of Prince Edward Island. They paid an estimated $4,800 for rescuing the lobsters.

Act of kindness

According to the monks, it’s just a matter of showing compassion to every living creature. Other Buddhist monks performed a similar act off the coast of northern Massachusetts in 2011, when they also freed 600 pounds of lobsters into the ocean. Canada exports thousands of metric tons of lobsters every year. In 2007, it had exported 32,247 pounds of lobsters.

The monks show us the way as to how all lives matter, small, big, animals and humans. It could surely inspire many to change their perspective towards lives of others.
