State-owned telecom operator BSNL has lately started focussing on its broadband plans and Jio's upcoming GigaFiber could be one of the main reasons behind this. The commercial rollout of GigaFiber is nearing and that is causing an unrest amidst the competing service providers. BSNL recently revised its entire broadband portfolio to take on Jio Gigafiber and Airtel V-Fiber.

According to TelecomTalk report, the company has now revised its Rs 249 plan to offer more benefits. The revised price of the plan is Rs 299 and this excludes GST.

The revised Rs 249 plan now costs Rs 299 and offers 1.5GB daily data along with voice calling benefit for 30 days. The speed will be dropped from 8Mbps to 1Mbps once you have reached the FUP limit. BSNL is also giving Rs 50 cashback per month for 180 days for the new subscribers of the Rs 299 plan.

BSNL has also made changes to its broadband plans priced between Rs 249 and Rs 2295. While some plans have received new FUP limits, some have received faster download speeds. The BB499 plan now offers 8 Mbps speeds until 25GB, BB545 broadband plan now offers 30GB of data per month. The speed throttles to 1Mbps once the FUP limit is reached.

BSNL has also increased the FUP limit for Rs 675, Rs 795, Rs 845, Rs 949, and Rs 999 broadband plans. The Rs 675 plan now offers 35GB of data at 10 Mbps speeds. The FUP for BB795 plan has been increased to 45GB, BB845 to 50GB, BB949 to 70GB and lastly the BB999 plan that comes with new FUP limit of 70GB. Earlier this year, BSNL added unlimited voice calling benefit for all broadband tariff plans in its portfolio. Some plan offer free calling benefit only across BSNL network while some offers free calling across any network in the country.
