Box Office: Nawazuddin Siddiqui And Radhika Apte Starrer Manjhi’s First Friday Occupancy Rate
Today two Bollywood films, Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s Manjhi: The Mountain Man and Abhishek Bachchan’s All Is Well released at the Box Office. Abhishek’s All Is Well managed a decent opening at the Box Office, while on the other hand Manjhi: The Mountain Man, which also stars Radhika Apte opened to a very dull reaction on its first Friday at the Box Office.
The small budget film Manjhi couldn’t succeed on grabbing audiences’ major attention and pull them in theatres. The film witnessed occupancy rate of 10-12% at the Box Office, which is little poor than what Abhishek’s All Is Well witnessed. But we can’t be hard on Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s Manjhi: The Mountain Man, as the film really is a small budget one with small star cast and no “Big” star power to drag the film towards glory. The film is solely depending on two very talented stars of Bollywood, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Radhika Apte’s shoulders.
Set in Bihar, Manjhi surprisingly didn’t receive the expected reaction at the Box Office in the state. Whereas the film is doing a good business in circuits such as Mumbai, Pune, Gujarat, Delhi and UP. Going by the reaction, we can expect director Ketan Mehta’s Manjhi to pull in around Rs. 5 to 10 crore net approx. on its first day at the Box Office.
After Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand recently became fourth state to make Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Radhika Apte’s recently released film Manjhi: The Mountain Man tax free. The tax-free status was granted by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat. According to reports, film specialists met with the Chief Minister Harish Rawat and requested him to let the film go tax free in the state, to which the Chief Minister happily agreed.
Based on a true story and life of Dashrath Manjhi, who broke a mountain for the lost love, Manjhi film stars Bollywood’s one of the finest and talented actors, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Radhika Apte in the leading roles. Directed by Ketan Mehta, Manjhi: The Mountain Man is a film about Dashrath Manjhi, also known as Mountain Man, who broke a mountain for love. He was madly and deeply in love with his wife, Phaguniya. Dashrath’s world shattered into pieces when his wife slipped while climbing the mountain and fell to her death.
This tragic incident turned Dashrath’s life upside down. Burdened by the grief of lost love, he decided to carve out a safe way through the edgy mountain, where a lot of people have fallen to their deaths. It took him 22 years of carving and breaking to form a path through the mountain. Seasons came and went, but he stood still like a rock, stiff on his decision, with nothing more than a hammer and a chisel, he achieved his goal.
