Bollywood Actress Jiah Khan Commited Suicide

बॉलीवुड अभिनेत्री जिया खान ने मुंबई में जूहू स्थित अपने फ्लैट में फांसी लगाकर खुदकुशी कर ली है।

उनकी खुदकुशी की वजह साफ नहीं है, पुलिस उनकी पोस्टमॉर्टम रिपोर्ट का इंतजार कर रही है।

जिया का शव सोमवार को जुहू स्थित सागर तंरग अपार्टमेंट में फांसी के फंदे पर झूलता मिला। अपार्टमेंट में वे अपनी मां राबिया खान के साथ रहती थीं।

जिया खान की खुदकुशी की खबर से पूरा बॉलीवुड सदमे में है। जिया को जानने वाले ये भरोसा नहीं कर पा रहे हैं कि वो ऐसा कदम उठा सकती है।

उनके शव को कॉर्नर कोर्ट कूपर अस्*पताल में पोस्टमॉर्टम के लिए भेजा गया है।

जिया खान को नफीसा खान के नाम से भी जाना जाता रहा है। बॉलीवुड में जिया ने अपने करियर की शुरुआत 'निःशब्द' से की। फिल्म में अमिताभ बच्चन जिया के हीरो थे। फिल्म 2007 में रिलीज हुई थी।

इसके बाद जिया ने आमिर खान अभिनीत ब्लॉकबस्टर मूवी 'गजनी' में काम किया। इस फिल्म में जिया के काम को बेहद सराहा गया। इसके बाद वह साजिद खान निर्देशित 'हाउसफुल' में भी नजर आईं।

Actor Jiah Khan, who forayed into the Hindi film industry with Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Nishabd’, was found dead at her Mumbai residence at around 11PM on June 3, 2013. Jiah had apparently been depressed for a while and had committed suicide when her mother and sister had gone out of the house. While the police have begun investigating Jiah’s suicide, entire Bollywood has been unanimous in expressing their shock over the death of the actor.

Actress Dia Mirza first broke the news of Jiah’s death on Twitter a few hours after the latter was discovered dead. Ever since, actors from the fraternity have been expressing themselves on the micro-blogging site. Here’s what some celebrities had to say:

Actor Amitabh Bachachan took to Twitter to express, “WHAT ...!!! Jiah Khan ??? what has happened ? is this correct ? unbelievable !!!(sic).”

Shahid Kapoor too tweeted, “Shocked n saddened to hear about jiah khan ... Very disturbing ... RIP ....may her soul rest in peace (sic).”

Actor Arshad Warsi tweeted, “Shocked to hear about Jiah Khan, she was too young to give up on life... RIP (sic).”

“So shocked and saddened by this terrible news!! May your soul find peace #Jiah khan (sic),” Kunal Kapoor wrote on the micro-blogging site.

Bipasha Basu too took to Twitter, "#Rip Jiah Khan!God bless her soul!(sic)"

"Very sad news about Jiah khan makes me feel vulnerable ... It`s a strange world(sic)," tweeted Aditi Rao Hydari.

Actor-comedian Vir Das wrote, "It`s just incredibly sad when anyone so young takes their own life. R.I.P Jiah Khan.(sic)"

Director Kunal Kohli tweeted, "What she must`ve gone thru to take such a step we`ll never know. May her soul rest in peace. Jiah Khan."

"Shocked and saddened by the news ... Gone way too soon... RIP Jiah Khan(sic)," wrote Neha Dhupia on the micro-blogging site.

Director Ram Gopal Varma, whose `Nishabd` Jiah Khan had entered Bollywood with, took to Twitter to express himself. RGV tweeted, "Shocked and choked to hear about Jiah ... So young and so pretty ... Just cant believe that someone as young nd so full of life is just dead ... Never ever seen a debutant actress with more spunk and more spirit than Jiah when i was directing her in Nishabd ... No matter what her problem was I just so wish she applied her on screen philosophy of Nishabd to her own life which is to .`take lite` ... The whole unit of Nishabd was literally in love with Jiah(sic)"

The director further added, "The last time I met her jiah told me that everyone around her makes her feel like a failure ... Inspite of being highly appreciated in Nishabd nd being a part of hugely successful Ghazni and Houseful she had no work for the last 3 years ... I dont know the reason what led to this but jiah was very depressed about her career and scared for her future(sic)"

Manoj Bajpayee wrote, "Its shocking to hear that a young one has commited suicide.may your soul rest in peace jiah khan!too young to go!(sic)"

Sandhya Mridul`s tweet read: "Oh god why ... Rip Jiah .. May you find love & joy wherever you are ..(sic)"

Actor Ritesh Deshmukh tweeted, "Nothing worse than waking up to bad news- shocked n dumb struck- RIP Jiah... Worked with Jiah in Housefull- she was full of life n had incredible sense of humour. She was a friend n will miss her. Am deeply saddened(sic)"

Sonu Sood too expressed himself through the micro-blogging site: "Shocked by jiah khans news. Had met her recently,was full of life..too early to go. RIP.(sic)"

Bollywood actress Jiah Khan of Nishabd fame was found hanging from the ceiling at her Juhu residence on late Monday night. The Mumbai Police said that it is suspected that the actor committed suicide although it is not clear yet as to why she took the drastic step.

"After the police control received a call around 12 am, a mobile police van was rushed to the spot. She was found in an unconscious state and was rushed to Cooper hospital where she was declared dead on arrival," said an official from the Juhu police.

The official added that the reason for her drastic step is being probed and that no suicide note was found on her person or in the apartment at Sagar Sangeet building in Vile Parle (west) where she lived with her mother and sister. Her mother and sister had briefly left the residence when Khan allegedly committed suicide by making a noose from a dupatta and hanging herself from the ceiling.

"Her body was sent for a post mortem at Cooper hospital and will be subsequently handed over to her family for the performance of her last rites," said the official.

Sources said that the actress, whose real name was Nafisa Khan, had recently returned from Hyderabad and committed suicide soon after her return. However, the police are yet to corroborate this.

The police were interviewing her neighbours, an officer said, adding that no suicide note was found.

"We suspect she hung herself at her home late on Monday," the official told AFP.

"As of now, we have recorded an accidental death. We are investigating further," said the official.

Jiah made her acting debut in Ram Gopal Varma's controversial movie, Nishabd, where she acted opposite Amitabh Bachchan. Upon its release in March 2007, the film received mixed reviews, but Jiah was noted for her confidence, attitude, and sex appeal. She also got a Filmfare Best Debutant Nomination.

She then appeared alongside Aamir Khan in A R Murugadoss's Ghajini, the Hindi remake of the director's own Tamil film of the same name. Later she appeared as a supporting actress in Sajid Khan's multi starrer comedy film 'Housefull' (2010). This was her last film.

Jiah was brought up in England and had shifted to Mumbai recently to act in Hindi films.

Jiah Khan’s twitter handle describes her as an ‘actor, poet, singer, musician and dreamer’ who sees ‘life through my rose coloured glasses.’ So it comes as a shock that the 25-year-old actor chose to end her life yesterday at her Mumbai residence. According to the police, her maid, watchman and neighbours are being interrogated to find out her last visitors to establish the cause of her death. No suicide note has been found so far and the body has been sent to Cooper Hospital for postmortem.
The first one to rush was actor Aditya Pancholi. Sources present confirmed that he overlooked the proceedings when the body was being taken to the hospital. Jiah was good friends with the Pancholi family and was also rumored to be dating Aditya Pancholi’s son Suraj Pancholi.
Flashback: Jiah in 'Nishabd'

The actor whose has gone back to her real name Nafisa, was born in London on February 20, 1988. Her mother, Rabiya Amin, was a small-time actress in 1980s.. She quit her acting course at the Lee Strasberg Academy of Dramatic Arts after landing a role in Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Nishabd’. Though the film received lot of criticism for the bold portrayal of a relationship between a teen and an older man, her screen confidence was much appreciated. She was nominated for a Filmfare Best Debut award and was touted as Bollywood's next big thing. Ram Gopal Varma who directed her in 'Nishabd' tweeted, ''Shocked and choked to hear about Jiah.
