Blind Heart
On a cold and wintry day,
You came and stole my heart away.

You said 'be patient, give me time'
And that someday, you might be mine.

All the words you spoke, so kind,
Came from your lips, but your heart was blind.

You did not see the pain I wore,
For I would see you nevermore.

I offered you such happiness,
But there were those who would not bless.

To them you turn and listen well,
Buying all they have to sell.

One day even you must grow,
And learn to reap the seeds you sow.

The only thing you left with me,
Is that someday I will hear you say,

'I've grown; and now my heart can see
