They have worked together in films like Mujhse Shaadi Karogi (2004) and Jaan-e-Mann (2006). And now, two of the biggest on-screen icons — Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan — are meeting on the latter’s TV show, Bigg Boss 6. They will be shooting for a special episode of the reality show today.In the past too, the two have come together on Salman’s TV show, Dus Ka Dum.
“Akshay and Salman have always had a very strong bond. Although they don’t talk to each other every day, they share a very warm equation. So when the idea came up (of Akshay making an appearance on Bigg Boss) Salman was more than happy about it. Otherwise, he is known to be very picky about guests on the show,” says an insider close to the show.
It’s interesting to note that 2012 has been big for both Akshay and Salman. While Salman has had a biggie in Ek Tha Tiger, which might be followed by a potential blockbuster, Dabangg 2, Akshay has had mega hits like Housefull 2, Rowdy Rathore and OMG: Oh My God!, as a producer.
“They were last seen together on the big screen in an item song in Tees Maar Khan (2010) but they have what we call an ‘underground’ (not known to the public) relationship. They are going to have lots of fun, since both Akshay and Salman are known to be pranksters,” adds the insider.
Asin will also accompany her Khiladi 786 co-star, Akshay to the sets.
Coming to the show, it’s believed that the Bigg Boss 6 housemates have been given tasks during the week that have involved strength and physical abilities. Akshay is going to judge the given tasks. “Since Akshay is known to be physically fit, the show’s producers thought it would fit very well with the entire theme,” adds the insider.
