Bhinda Jatt set to make comeback on British Asian label VIP Records, 10.0 out of 10 based on 1 rating American bhangra artist Bhinda Jatt has been signed on by British Asian music label VIP Records amid growing excitement for his upcoming releases. Bhinda, also known as ‘The California King’, climbed to fame in the 90s with smash hits such as ‘Patt Utte Morni’, ‘Nachdi De Video’, ‘Lare Lare Truck Jatt Da’ and ‘Jatt Deian Boliyan Kuri Giddeh Wichayee’.
Bhinda found instant fame in his baritone voice and captured the hearts of fans across the world. His single, ‘Jatt Deian Boliyan Kuri Giddesh Wichayee’ claimed top spot on the charts for more than 12 weeks, earning Bhinda appreciation and awards from the Punjabi music community.
As a child raised in California, Bhinda grew up listening to a variety of Punjabi folk music and learned from the greats such as Kuldeep Manak, Chamkila, Surinder Shinda, and Surjit Bindrakhia. His older brother, Kaser KC, also known as the King of Dhol, was already an established artist and was instrumental in helping Bhinda bring his blend of Punjabi folk music to the world. The duo continue to work together, travelling across the world to perform at a variety of events.
Now regarded as one of the powerhouses in the bhangra music industry, Bhinda, along with VIP Records, is set to make a comeback with two new mind blowing tracks to be featured on Jassi Jalandhari’s album ‘Mohabbtan’. Following that, the California King will release his own album on VIP Records, working alongside two of Britain’s best producers, DJ Vix and Tru Skool.
