Exercising is important. Incorporating exercises in our life means incorporating health. We all know that in order to enjoy a healthy lifestyle and to keep one physically fit, everyone should exercise. However, is there a best time for exercising? Actually, the ideal time of exercising largely depends on your body’s circadian rhythm and your preferences. You must have read many books which talks about exercising in the mornings. Actually, it is so because it is easy to form an exercising habit in the morning and most people who exercise consistently, do so in the morning.   • It is easy to schedule time for exercising by getting up a little earlier.
  • The distractions in the mornings are least and thus mornings give us time for consistent exercising. Also exercises in the morning wakes us up and improves the energy level for the day ahead.
  • Morning exercises increases the metabolism and promote more fat burning.
  • Exercises in the mornings produce endorphins, which helps in stimulating the body and giving a person a positive start.
  • There is least pollution in the morning and that means more oxygen intake for the body.
Morning Exercises Cons:

  • The body temperature is at its lowest in the mornings
  • The muscles are stiff in the morning, which increases the chances of getting injured. A person needs to warm up a little bit more that that is needed in the afternoon and the evening.
  • Some research suggests that exercising in morning put some people into a greater risk of heart attack.
Afternoon:

According to some research, the best time for exercising is in afternoon. However, most of us are not able to take out time for afternoon exercises. Doing exercises in the afternoon has many advantages and disadvantages. Read on to know the pros and cons of doing exercises in the afternoon.

Afternoon Exercises Pros:

  • In the afternoon, the body is at an ideal temperature, muscles at high strength and hormones level are higher and thus allows a proper workout.
  • The exercises in the afternoon helps in increasing the blood flow to the brain making us more active and sharper.
  • The exercise helps in kicking the stress that the body accumulates during the day.
  • The exercises in afternoon help in maximizing the fitness and muscles size and strength.
Afternoon Exercises Cons:

  • Afternoon exercises often come with a price of time constraints.
  • Afternoon time is the most distracting time and commitments may thwart your exercising routine.
  • Some research shows that at noontime, lung function is worst at its worst, which may make the exercising difficult especially for those with lung problems.
Evening:

According to some research studies on lung function, body rhythms, temperature and hormone levels, the best time to exercise is around 6 pm.

Evening Exercise Pros:

  • Body temperature and hormone level is at its peak at 6 p.m. for most people. Also during this time, body muscles are flexible and warm which makes for easy exercising.
  • It also works at a stress buster after a hard day at work. Exercises in evening also help in relaxing us and facilitate a good night’s sleep.
Evening Exercise Cons:

  • After a hard day at work, many of us may not feel like exercising and that may discontinue the routine.
  • It doesn’t have the “afterburn” effect that exercises in mornings and afternoons provides.
