Beggars and Langar.

So beggars are not allowed to have Langar in most Gurdwaras and I can think of plenty of good reasons for that.

But still, shouldn't langar be open to all ?

First, the statement 'beggars being not allowed to have langar in most Gurdwaras' is very subjective. The concept of 'Langar for all' is working well at my side.

Second, beggars who are mentally and physically fit to work- but still prefer to beg- must never be promoted in any way.

Sikhism promotes langar but it promotes hardwork as well.....
Mangan geya so mar geya.....
The aim of langar is to serve helpless, not making people useless

Some ppl say langar is for needy, for poor etc. I believe langar is for everyone. Concept is each one of us share and each one of us eat together like brothers. So if beggar comes and eat, let him. Encourage him to share, by doing sewa.
