Talk about originality?
Many people in the Hindi film industry think the moniker Bollywood is derogatory (as it makes us a clone of Hollywood) but when you see a poster like this, you realize our industry very much deserves to be called Bollywood.
It’s natural to be shocked when you find out that the very poster of an upcoming film, starring two top stars of the industry and produced by a prestigious production house, is shamelessly copied from a Hollywood film that came out just last year.
The similarity between the posters of Anjaana Anjaani, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra, and director Lone Scherfig’s film An Education (which was nominated for Oscars this year) is shocking.
Not only are Priyanka and Ranbir in the same pose as Peter Sarsgaard and Carey Mulligan, Ranbir’s shirt and tie is also the same as Peter’s.
Poster apart, the film’s plotline itself is learnt to be inspired from the French film La Fille sur le pont (The Girl On The Bridge).
So what’s original in ‘Anjaana Anjaani’? The songs perhaps.
