Barely a month after Rovio released Angry Birds Star Wars, the developers revealed that they would be rolling out an update for the game with 20 new levels and that these new levels would be in the ice world of Hoth. So, what does one get with the first update to the game? For starters, a player gets 20 levels in the ice world of Hoth. The pink bird makes an appearance and it wields a new power with which one can aim for a weak spot to completely destroy the AT-ATs. Apart from this, Rovio has also added two new bonus levels.

Evading the dreaded Imperial Starfleet, a group of freedom fighters has established a new secret base on the remote ice world of Hoth. Unfortunately the evil Darth Vader discovers their hideout, and the desperate Rebel birds must escape the AT-ATs and Pigtroopers hot on their trail. But the Rebels have an ace up their sleeve with the debut of PRINCESS LEIA!”
The company has released a trailer for the update, simply titled Angry Birds Star Wars Episode V: Hoth.
Angry Birds Star Wars was released earlier this month for iOS, Android, Amazon Kindle Fire, Mac, PC, Windows Phone, and Windows 8. Concurrently with the game launch, Rovio and Lucasfilm have also introduced tie-in merchandise and a new cinematic trailer that re-tells the classic Star Wars Cantina scene with Angry Birds Star Wars characters in the starring roles. Angry Birds Star Wars merchandise, ranging from Hasbro toys to apparel to plush toys, is available now at select retailers.

The game follows a group of Rebel Birds in their fight against the evil Imperial Pigs. Fans will use the Force, wield a light saber, and blast away Pigtroopers on an intergalactic journey from the deserts of Tatooine to the depths of the Pig Star — where they’ll face off against the terrifying Darth Vader, Dark Lord of the Pigs.

Fans can also train with the Path of the Jedi, which is an in-app purchase, to become a Jedi Master.
