Chandigarh May 7:

Former Chief Minister of Punjab Captain Amarinder Singh sought bar on selling the land belonging to the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) saying the land is meant for research and it cannot be squandered away just for his vested interest.

Captain said that it was shocking how the SAD-BJP Government was trying to sell the land of the university without caring about agricultural research. He wondered, how Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal could think of selling PAU land, which is meant for research.

“Badal must know that the agriculture research institutes like Punjab Agricultural University need lot of land and you can’t sell it to generate funds”, he remarked. Even for developing a cricket stadium in Bathinda the Government took away the PAU land only, he added.
