Even as Pakistan's Sikh community mourns the lost of 2 of its members, a Pakistani Hindu has now been abducted in Peshwar and a huge ransom demanded for his release.

Robin Singh, a computer engineer by profession was kidnapped by unknown persons from a market on Peshwar's University Road last Friday -- Singh was kidnapped while heading to the town of Nowshera for some work.

The kidnappers have demanded 10 million rupees from Singh's relatives. His brother, Rajan has registered a case at Peshawar's West Cantonment police station. In a statement issued yesterday, President Asif Ali Zardari condemned the kidnapping of Robin Singh.

Meanwhile, an NDA delegation met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and urged him to bring pressure on Pakistan through global opinion to get a Sikh youth released from Taliban's clutches.

The delegation, comprising BJP Deputy Leader in Rajya Sabha S S Ahluwalia, Harsimrat Kaur, Naresh Gujral and Rattan Singh Ajnala (all SAD MPs) and former Minority Commission chairman Tarlochan Singh, told the PM that India should register its protest with Pakistan against the beheading of two Sikhs there and take up the matter with that country.

BJP and SAD MPs, led by Advani and joined by BJP leaders Arun Jaitley and Sushma Swaraj, later attended a prayer meeting at Bangla Saheb Gurudwara for the two slain Sikhs.

After the prayer meeting, Advani told reporters outside the Gurudwara that "this crime was not done against any country, any religion or sect, this was against humanity."

Ahluwalia said "the Prime Minister assured us that talks were on at various levels with Pakistan on the issue". He said Singh told the delegation that he grew up and did his schooling in Peshawar -- where this gruesome incident took place -- and was pained at the incident.
