A melbourne-based mother has written an open letter to Salman Khan, making a wish for her daughter Ryka. The five-year old is a cancer survivor and a huge fan of Salman, since the time she watched him in 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo'. Ryka was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL) when she and her family were on an India tour, back in 2013; she was just two then. The toddler thought that it was India that gave her the disease and hence she started disliking everything Indian — be it the music, television shows, or even talking to people back in India, as well as watching movies, until she saw 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo'. The mother claims that Salman's screen presence simply lights up her daughter's face, and one must see it to believe it.

The toddler, who celebrated her first cancer-free birthday on April 29 this year, is glued to the actor's songs and videos on her tablet. Vandana Gulati, her mother feels that Salman has been a positive reinforcement in their daughter's life and also one of the reasons Ryka has got back to being familiar with her Indian roots. She wanted Salman Khan to wish her 'Happy Birthday' as she turned five last month, since the actor is known to love children. Although, her birthday has passed by, the mother is hopeful that the actor would fulfill her daughter's wish, as he has been crucial in giving Ryka a lot positive vibes and also in expediting her healing process.
