As some of you may be aware, a terrible tragedy has taken place today. A Gurdwara Sahib in East London (UK) was today found on fire at 14:00. By 21:00 the fire teams were still tackling the blaze in some parts of the building. Witnesses said that the roof has fallen in and little of the building has survived the devastation of the fire.

Witnesses from within the Gurdwara said that they believed the fire to have began from within Sachkhand Sahib (which is where Guru Granth Sahib Ji is kept to rest). As such, the 7 Saroops of Guru Granth Sahib Ji and the many gutkeh sahibs that were kept in there are unlikely to have survived the fire.

At the moment each of us is praying for the chardikala of the Panth through our Chaupai Sahibs. With incidents such as this happening, we can only stress the need to pray for the Panth that much more. Please do an ardas for a collective apology that we as children of Guru Sahib let these kind of things happen and let Guru Granth Sahib Ji’s saroops be consumed by fire. Whether the police investigation finds this to be an accident or an arson attack, either way it should not have happened.

got the news yesterday,
it is like a black day in sikh history, not even formal coverage was given to this news, even the frontier punjabi newspaper "Ajit " took it as non importent and printed it on second paze with no details,
to be true we were hated, we are hated, and this will remain the same....
wound after wound, we wont die, we will just get more and more strength.........
ps.no wonder if reports later show that fire was because of short circuit.
