The accused have been identified as Sukhwinder Singh, his two sons Rajanpreet Singh and Prince, besides his relatives Pala Singh and Nittu.

The father of the girl, in his statement lodged with the police, alleged that Rajanpreet Singh, in connivance with one of his relatives, abducted his daughter on the night of June 14.

He alleged that Rajanpreet had abducted his daughter luring her to marry him. SSP Preetpal Singh Virk said raids have been conducted to trace the accused.

Meanwhile, Amandeep Kaur and two of her relatives from her parents’ side have been booked for abducting her husband’s sister from Lahian village, 35 km from here, falling under police station Sarai Amanat Khan.

The police sources said besides Amandeep Kaur, the accused have been identified as Gurdit Singh (Amandeep’s uncle) of Rajoke village and Joginder Singh, the husband of Gurdit’s sister.

It is said Amandeep Kaur was married only nine months back.

Gurdit, being a close relative of Amandeep, used to come to her in-laws’ house aften.

Amandeep’s father-in-law, in his statement to the police, said Gurdit developed illicit relations with his daughter. When he objected to this, he started coming to the house in his absence.

He said one day Joginder Singh, being a close relative of Gurdit, came to his house and asked him to marry his daughter to Joginder, to which he objected.

He said on the night of June 17, the accused managed to abduct his daughter, luring her to marry Gurdit. A case under sections 363 and 366 of the IPC has been registered against the accused.
