6 DCs among 27 officers transferred

Senior IAS officer Gurdev Singh Ghuman, who was booked by the Vigilance Bureau in a case of having disproportionate assets and for submitting fake travel bills last month, has been removed from the post of Joint Commissioner (Development) in the Rural Development and Panchayat Department.
A major administrative reshuffle was affected by the state government today.
Parampal Kaur Sidhu, daughter-in-law of Rural Development Minister Sikander Maluka, who was recently elevated to the IAS, has been posted as ADC Bathinda.
As many as 19 IAS and eight PCS officers have been transferred.
Six districts – Mansa, Muktsar, Nawanshahr, Barnala, Kapurthala and Pathankot — get new deputy commissioners today.
Varinder Kumar Sharma is DC, Mansa; Sumit Jarangal, Muktsar; Vipul Ujwal Nawanshahr; Bhupinder Singh, Barnala; Jaskiran Singh, Kapurthala; and Amit Kumar, Pathankot.
Two FIRs were registered against Ghuman, one on December 28 and another on January 13. But he continued to work and even held court in the department. He has now been transferred and posted as Special Secretary, Programme Implementation.
In the reshuffle, Tanu Kashyap, who was posted as DC, Kapurthala, last week has also been posted as Director, Industries and Commerce. Indu Malhotra is MD, PSIDC; MP Arora has been transferred from Food and Supplies to Special Secretary School Education.
Nawanshahr Deputy Commissioner APS Virk goes as Special Secretary, Civil Aviation; and Gurloveleen Singh as Director, Social Security. Sukhwinder Singh, DC, Pathankot, has been transferred as Director, Small Savings.
Among other IAS officers who have been transferred include Sheena Aggarwal ADC (Development), Bathinda; Sanyam Aggarwal ADC, Mansa; Isha, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Bathinda; Sonali Giri Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Moga; and Gurkirat Kirpal, Managing Director Markfed.
