Punjab News 3 wounded in clash at toll plaza

Kapurthala: Three persons were wounded in a clash between bus drivers and toll plaza employees at the toll plaza near Dhilwan village on the Jalandhar-Amritsar national highway this morning. Traffic remained jam for over an hour due to the clash and the long queue of vehicles were seen on both sides of the toll plaza.

The wounded persons, Jasbir Singh, driver of a Punjab Roadway bus, and toll plaza men Nahar Singh and Sukhdev Singh, were admitted to a Dhilwan hospital.

According to police sources, the clash started as a toll plaza barrier was partially damaged by the Punjab Roadways bus as it hit it. The agitated employees of the toll plaza allegedly beat the bus driver and injured him. The bus driver parked the bus on the road and jammed the vehicular traffic. Then a clash between the toll plaza men and bus drivers took place resulting in injuries to two toll plaza men.

Later, the police controlled the situation and the traffic was restored. The police has registered a case under sections 353, 186, 332 and 34 of the IPC. — TNS
