3 security guards rob, thrash CBI Inspector, booked

An Inspector (SI) of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) was allegedly assaulted and robbed off cash by three security guards posted on duty at the Trade Fair in Sector 17 during wee hours on December 19. However, the family members of the accused claimed that the allegations levelled against them were false and the influence of some senior police officials was used to get a case registered against them.
The police said Inspector Ashok Yadav, a resident of Sector 11, was assaulted by three persons near the Parade Ground in Sector 17.
The police said that the accused, identified as Subham, a resident of Mullanpur, Kanav Pathak, a resident of Khuda Lahora village, and Kulwinder Singh, a resident of Khuda Jassu, who were the security guards on night duty at the Trade Fair allegedly attacked the complainant and took away Rs 2,200 from him. Yadav lodged a complaint with the police following which the accused were arrested.
However, family members of the accused, Subham, alleged that the allegations levelled by Yadav were false. The kin alleged that Yadav was drunk at the time of the incident and he came near the venue and tried to break the fancy lights installed there .
Meanwhile, the police have registered a case under Sections 392 (robbery) and 34 (Acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against the accused at the Sector 17 police station and an investigation has been initiated.
