Nvidia’s Optimus technology promised the best of both worlds when it was first announced. Automatic switching between a low power graphics processor for typical desktop applications, and a high-end GPU when you load up a game or other graphical intensive application.
Well it seems as though Computex 2010 is the launching ground for many an Optimus-enabled machine. Nvidia is counting 13 laptops and netbooks in its own booth alone, and a total of 20 available to view around the show floor.
Here’s a quick rundown of all the Optimus enabled hardware on display:

Gateway

  • Gateway ID49C (14”, GeForce GT 330M, 1GB)
  • Gateway EC39C: 13.3 inch model with a GeForce 310M GPU 512MB of VRAM.

Packard Bell

  • Packard Bell EasyNote Butterfly s (13.3”, GeForce 310M, 512MB)
  • Packard Bell EasyNote TX86: 15.6 inch model with a GeForce 330M GPU and 1GB for VRAM.

MSI

  • MSI CX720 (17.3”, GeForce 310M, 1GB)
  • MSI FX700 (17.3, an unidentified next-generation GeForce GPU)

  • ASUS EeePC 1015PN 10″ netbook

Others

  • Lenovo Y460: 14 inch model with a GeForce 330M GPU and 1GB for VRAM
  • Clevo B5100 (15″, GeForce 330M, 1GB VRAM)
The final laptop not in the list above is from Compal. It isn’t selling a laptop to consumers, but instead is offering manufacturers the option to put their name on its hardware. It’s called the NCL61 notebook (14”, GeForce GT 325M, 2GB). So that could spur a boat-load more Optimus machines hitting the market.
