Railway ticket booking would soon be possible through post offices in Punjab and Chandigarh as the Postal Department has identified several locations for starting this service in the State and the Union Territory.
“We are just awaiting the approval of the Railway Board for commencing ticket booking through postal network in Punjab and Chandigarh. It will be introduced at select locations,” Chief Post Master General (Punjab and Chandigarh) Prithvi Raj Kumar said.
The department has identified six locations in Punjab, including Ludhiana, Patiala, Hoshiarpur and Amritsar, for starting the service. In Chandigarh, the department is hoping to introduce the service at four places.
