Dubai: Police have arrested a gang of three people including a woman on suspicion of human trafficking.
Irena, an Asian woman working in Dubai, met an Asian woman named Leena who promised to help her find a better job.
When Irena absconded from her company, Leena forced her into prostitution by beating and threatening her. Irena was freed by the police during a security operation.
Irena told police how she was forced into prostitution by Leena.
Based on that, police from Dubai and other emirates arrested Leena and the human trafficking gang after setting a trap.
Leena was allegedly managing the den in cooperation with an Arab, S.F., and an Asian, S.R.

The three suspects have been referred to the Public Prosecution for further investigation.

An official from the police's Criminal Investigation Department called on all sponsors to report employees who abscond so the police can track them and make sure they are not lured into prostitution.

Help at hand

Dubai Police will use a portable electronic fingerprinting device to reach people with special needs and elderly people at their homes.
Lt Col Ahmad Al Muhairi, Acting Director of Dubai Police's Forensic Sciences and Crime Science Department, said the police will use an electronic device to help these people when they apply for certificates of good conduct. This will also help save time.
