Afghan delegation visits science and technology universit

A five-member delegation led by Afghanistan Deputy Minister for Higher Education M Osmam Baburi today met Vice Chancellor M L Ranga of Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar for mutual coordination in the field of higher education.

Prof Baburi said that India provided scholarship to 500 Afghanistan students. As many as 26 public universities and 40 private puniversities were engaged in providing higher education to the students in Afghanistan. He said that the purpose of their visit to India was to identify the higher education institutes providing quality education and to send Afghanistani students for gaining education in these institutes.

''India had a significant role in the reconstruction work of Afghanistan and it had also helped Afghanistan to prepare a capable educated future generation,'' he added. Prof Ranga apprised him about the various aspects of the University. He said the students of Afghanistan would be provided quality higher education so that they could be instrumental in building Afghanistan as a strong nation.
