Rapper Ja Rule faces 2 years jail after hiding gun

Rapper Ja Rule pleaded guilty on Monday to attempted criminal possession of a weapon and will serve two years in prison, authorities in New York said.
The charge stemmed from a July 2007 incident in which police pulled Ja Rule over after a concert in New York and found a semi-automatic handgun hidden in the rear door of his luxury car, the Manhattan District Attorney's Office said.
The 34-year-old rapper, nominated in 2002 for a Grammy Award for his album "Pain is Love," must report back to court on Feb. 9 but no sentencing date has been set.
"Minor setback for a major comeback," the rapper, whose real name is Jeffrey Atkins, wrote on Twitter after leaving court.
Another rapper, Lil Wayne, was arrested separately following the same concert at the Beacon Theater after police discovered him smoking marijuana near a tour bus.
Ja Rule has appeared in several films, most notably "The Fast and the Furious" and "Scary Movie 3."
