The company also announced that it has teamed up with action camera maker GoPro. YouTube had stated last year that it will soon bring support for 360 degree videos following which it added VR video support for Android. By partnering with GoPro, YouTube will bring more 360-degree video content to its platform. In TVs, HDR refers to an expanded contrast ratio and color brightness that brings out better color and details. It even shows better details in darker part of the screen. In order to watch the HDR content, you will need a TV that supports HDR.
YouTube is following the footsteps of Amazon and Netflix which recently announced support for HDR videos as well. TV manufacturers like Samsung, LG, Sony and Panasonic announced HDR Tvs at CES 2016.
