Samsung Galaxy Gear smartwatch specs leak, to be unveiled on september 4
Finally after so many rumours and speculation about Galaxy Gear Smartwatch launching, the curtains are going to go up on September 4. South Korean giant Samsung Electronics is all set to launch the third installment of there Phablet series called Galaxy Note III at its UNPACKED Episode 2 event on September 4, if the report hold any fact then the Galaxy Gear unveiling will accompany it. Reportedly the smartphone will act as an companion accessory for Samsung Galaxy Smartphone.
Earlier this month, a report on the Dutch site Galaxy Club revealed a trademark filing on USPTO’s website related to a new range of smart devices named as “Galaxy Gear”.
In the filling Samsung described it as “Wearable digital electronic devices in the form of a wristwatch, wrist band or bangle capable of providing access to the Internet and for sending and receiving phone calls, electronic mails and messages; wearable electronic handheld devices in the form of a wristwatch, wrist band or bangle for the wireless receipt, storage and/or transmission of data and messages and for keeping track of or managing personal information; smart phones; tablet computers; portable computers.”
Though Samsung has confirmed that the company is working on Smartwatch, but no details has been delivered till date about the Smartwatch. But it is expected that the Smartwatch is going to get equipped with a Camera a GPS chip and a TV receiver. It is likely to coma as an arm band and should be bike mountable. It could serve as health monitor and will probably tie in with the S Health Android app.
Meanwhile, according to SamMobile, the Galaxy Gear smartwatch will be powered by a Samsung Exynos 4212 dual core 1.5GHz processor, ARM Mali-400 MP4 GPU and paired with a 1GB RAM. It will reportedly feature a 1.67-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 320×320 pixels. The smartwatch may also include a 2MP camera and connectivity options like Wifi, Bluetooth and NFC.
Samsung will begin shipping of this smartwatch in October this year while its upcoming phablet Galaxy Note 3 may begin shipping as early as first week of September.
