Nokia sending its Android smartphone to developers in India, to launch during IPL



Nokia’s first Android smartphone is always in the news. According to an exclusive report by BGR, Nokia has started sending its first Android Smartphone codenamed Normandy, to some developers in India. The company is also planning to launch this smartphone in India during the IPL session in early-April, the report confirms.

Nokia Normandy or Nokia X is said to be running the AOSP version of the Android Operating System. It will not include Google services and it will be a highly customized version of the Android KitKat Operating System. The company is planning to launch its own app store for this platform, that is the reason it has started sending out the units to developers in India.

Nokia is expected to unveil this smartphone on February 24 during Mobile World Congress 2014 in Barcelona. The company is expected to launch Nokia Normandy in India market for around Rs. 6,500. The previous leaks suggest that Nokia X will include a 4-inch of WVGA display screen, with 1GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, 5-megapixel camera and 1500mAh battery.
