HTC’s next smartphone offering, the HTC One Max, is back in the news. This time, the leaked picture reveals an intriguing feature, a fingerprint scanner. The source, Taiwanese website ePrice, was able to get its hands on a live shot of the smartphone, along with its siblings, the HTC One and the One mini.

This is different from earlier reports that showed off an alleged press render of the smartphone, where a fingerprint reader was not seen on the smartphone’s back. While the official render is not the final one, the new picture hints at the possibility of this nifty feature being available only in certain regions. The new picture also reveals the presence of three dock connectors. This could be indicative of such an accessory being made available at launch.

From what is known so far, the HTC One Max will come with a 5.9-inch 1080p display as well as Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 800 SoC under the hood. The smartphone, also referred to as HTC One T6, should also come with 2GB of RAM. Additional features like an Ultrapixel digital camera and a 2.1 megapixel front shooter can be expected. Rounding up the expected package is a 3300 mAh battery, which is the bare minimum when you consider the screen size. The smartphone should also come with 64GB of internal storage.

HTC is working on marketing its smartphones as well. The company, along with its new brand ambassador, Robert Downey Jr, recently pushed out a new ad for the company. The lacklustre performance of the latest effort may leave HTC loyalists a bit disappointed, though. While its marketing might currently be a bit dodgy, there is no dearth of effort on the smartphone development front. GSMarena has now reported that the HTC One Max could be unveiled as early as September, with the current information pointing to the smartphone hitting stores in October.
