There is no place in the world where a woman feels safe. Especially not the Chambal ravines. Bandit Queen, goes along the lines of killing the woman in Phoolandevi , forcing her to strike back in vengeance with rebellion. Seema Biswas, carries off the role with great motivation, setting an example that the average Indian woman will tolerate, but not beyond a level. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

13.Astitva

‘Astitva’, the film, makes you want to sympathise with the lead actor Tabu. The story is her journey of rediscovering herself and evolving an identity. This movie highlights the domestic violence a woman has to bear in a marriage. The catch being how she tackles it with positivity, not forgiving and tolerating.
