TheThe Gordon Murray Design team has been brewing up a storm called the Teewave AR.1 – an electric sportscar weighing just 850kg.
The rear-wheel drive GMD prototype, commissioned by carbon fibre specialist Toray Industries Inc. uses an electric powertrain from the Mitsubishi iMiEV. But, if you thought it was quick, you thought wrong. It just looks fast. It makes 63bhp and 180Nm of torque with its 16kWh lithium-ion battery. It’ll get from 0-100kph in 11.4 seconds and has a top speed of 146kph. We can run faster than that. It’ll take a bit (quite a lot) of tweaking to get it anywhere near the McLaren F1’s top speed…
