check lenovo tablets( android), they are pretty good in quality specially for kids usage, frequent falls and spills etc. using lenovo tab3 for my son from last 3 years.

my 2 cents. get 10 inch one as its easy on their eyes to watch also gets bigger battery which helps in travel etc
