If you like the look of the specs on the new HTC Raider and Titan, but you’d prefer a phone that doesn’t ship with the Sense UI, you’re in luck. The Samsung SHV-E120L has had its secrets laid bare, and they’re every bit as impressive — if not more so.

Like the HTC Raider, the SHV-E120L sports a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. Video processing is handled by the Adreno 220 GPU — which is powering the Desert Windws demo you can watch below. The SHV-E120L is also packing 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, an 8 megapixel rear and 2 megapixel front cameras, and a beefy 1850mAh battery.

That capacious battery is going to come in handy, too, because the SHV-E120L is topped off by a massive 4.7″ display that pushes out 720 x 1280 pixels. It’s also ready for LTE networks and offers NFC support in addition to the usual sensors (GPS, 3-axis gyro, accelerometer).

As much as I hate to sound like the curmudgeonly old man shaking his fist at teenagers on the lawn, it’s still pretty unbelievable how quickly we’ve gone from single-core 1GHz phones with 480×800 screens to the butt-kicking internals in this new batch of superphones.

With the HTC models and the LG LU6200 featuring similar specs, it’s safe to assume that this is going to be the sweet spot for the next round of top-end Android phones to hit wireless carriers. That is, of course, until the quad-core models are ready to go.
