Samsung Galaxy Grand Quattro price drops to Rs 16,900

Samsung has dropped the price of its mid-range quad-core smartphone, the Galaxy Grand Quattro and it’s now available on the company’s e-store for Rs 16,900. At online retailer Flipkart, the Quattro is listed for Rs 16,570, while Saholic has it priced at Rs 16,499. The launch price of the smartphone was Rs 17,290.

The dual-SIM capable Galaxy Grand Quattro smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm MSM8625Q Snapdragon 200 1.2GHz quad-core processor and runs Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. The Adreno 203 GPU, while not stellar, should provide more than enough oomph for most games and the 1GB of RAM should come in handy for extra processing power. The camera is nothing to write home about, but the 5-megapixel snapper is still good enough for basic photography and Instagram pictures. The VGA front camera is a disappointing specification.

The low-res display and the low-powered CPU mean that the 2000 mAh battery should ideally last the whole day on moderate-to-heavy usage. We would have liked to see a higher capacity battery, but for the price it’s quite capacious.

Here's a quick look at the specs of the Galaxy Grand Quattro:
4.7-inch TFT display with WVGA resolution
Dual-SIM, 3G, GPRS/EDGE
Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi hotspot
Bluetooth 3.0
GPS with A-GPS support
5-megapixel primary camera with LED flash and VGA front camera
8GB internal memory + microSD support for up to 32GB more memory

As an introductory offer, the smartphone comes with a Digital Wallet carrying Rs 3,000 and is valid for 90 days applicable on purchases of games and apps.
