ISRAELI EXPERTS TO STUDY ENVIRONMENTAL PROBLEM IN PUNJAB

Chandigarh November 19:

Leading players in the fields of cutting edge solar energy technology, agriculture, water management environmental and water pollution are likely to visit Punjab in the coming days as a follow up to the joint developmental thrust proposed between Israel and Punjab.

The Government of India has been approached to facilitate the process. This was stated by Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal after a series of meetings with Israeli officials in Tel Aviv today, a State government release here today stated. Earlier Mr Badal called on Minister of Industry, Trade and Labour of Israel Binyamin Ben-Eliezer last evening to explore the possibility of joint collaboration between Israel and Punjab in several developmental areas.

The Chief Minister was accompanied by his Media Advisor Harcharn Bains, Secretary Science Technology and Environment Viswajit Khanna, his Special Secretary K J S Cheema as well as Chairman CII Punjab region Gunbir Singh apart from other officials including Secretary Punjab Pollution Control Board Babu Ram Chief Engineer Punjab Water Supply and Sanitation Sita Ram Agrawal. India’s Ambassador to Israel Navtej Singh Sarna also attended the meeing.
