Himachal Pradesh chief minister Virbhadra Singh hospitalised

Himachal Pradesh chief minister Virbhadra Singh was rushed to the state-run Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) hospital, last night after he complained about acute chest congestion.
The 86 -year-old chief minister was taken to the hospital late Sunday night, at around 1:30 am. His condition is stated to be stable and “improving gradually”.
Virbhadra was at his private residence Holy Lodge and had been unwell for the last few days.
He had developed chest congestion four days back during his visit to Dodra Kwar in the state’s Rohru sub- division. On Friday, Virbhadra, after attending a function at Hotel Peterhoff, had visited IGMC for treatment of the chest congestion .
The function was organised by the rural development department to felicitate people for their contribution in making the state open defecation-free. The function was also attended by Union rural development minister Narender Singh Tomar and Union health minister JP Nadda.
Doctors at the IGMC have advised complete rest. “The chief minister’s condition has improved since last night,” Ramesh Chand, senior medical superintendent of hospital said.
It is likely that Virbhadra will be kept under observation for another 24 hours before being discharged.
Governor Acharya Dev Vrat visited the hospital to inquire about the CM’s well being. Irrigation and public health minister Vidya Stokes, social justice minister Dhani Ram Shandil and forest minister Thakur Singh Bharmauri also inquired about Virbhadra’s health .[/img][/COLOR][/SIZE]
