Cabinet Minister Bikram Singh Majithia today sharply reacted to the remarks of PPCC chief Rajinder Kaur on appointing Bibi Surinder Kaur Badal as the Akal Takht Jathedar. He said disrespect and sarcasm to the Akal Takht was intolerable.
Bhattal had yesterday asked Badal to appoint his wife at the top religious post. “This is deplorable. The Congress is bereft of political agenda and is resorting to belittling the dignity of the Holy Takht. Her remarks have belittled her own image and deeply hurt the sentiments of the Sikh community,” said Majithia. He said the people of Punjab were fed up with the wrangling of former CM Capt Amarinder Singh and Bhattal.
