British comedian Russell Brand has been deported from Japan for something he did 10 years ago, his wife Katy Perry says.
The actor flew down to the country with Perry's tour entourage, but was held by immigration officials, reports contactmusic.com.
"My husband just got deported from Japan. I am so sad. I brought him all this way to show him my favourite place #tokyo dreams crushed. It was for priors from over 10 years ago!..." Perry wrote on Twitter.
"But of course I (love) my Japanese fans and the show #Mustgoon no matter the daily aftershocks or husband kidnappings!"
Brand has had run-ins with law because of his drugs problem. He was arrested in September over a clash with a photographer.
