The child could have fallen into the river (not into the school, but into the grave). The little boy have a brave soul no matter what the danger is. The parent's task is to guide and supervise their children so that the child do not act recklessly, like the father who wear the hat. Others may have pursued to use a damaged bridge, cross the river, or climb a tree, so do not be afraid to cross alone.
I like the courage and the spirit of these children to learn, although the position of the bridge is not unusual (the slope of almost 90º = invites the angel of death), they still decided to go to school together using a bridge 'shiratal Mustaqim' .
As if it (or did so) they are practicing a belief:
"If God has set me safely to the goal, then no one can resist."
On the other hand, their studies have a glorious position in the view of Islam.
