Indian-American presidential aspirant Bobby Jindal has said he would launch a frontal attack on his leading Republican rival Donald Trump, a day after his campaign launched a video that compared the real estate baron to an actor infamous for his public meltdown.
Jindal, 44, will kick-off his anti-Trump campaign from a news conference at the National Press Club in Washington today where he will also "discuss the future of the country and the 2016 race," his campaign said yesterday.
Jindal's campaign released an anti-Trump video advertisement yesterday comparing the Republican real estate mogul to actor Charlie Sheen, who is infamous for a public meltdown in 2011 when he publicly admitted his past drug use.
The video was viewed more than 7,000 times within a few hours of its launch.
The video shows clips of Sheen from an ABC interview in 2011 where he repeatedly declares that he is "winning", compared to snippets of Trump in which he is seen saying that he was "winning" in the polls and "winning everywhere."
"Charlie Sheen is clearly Donald Trump's spirit animal. Or maybe it's the other way around? They'd win here, they'd win there, they'd be bi-winning. It's a match made in heaven," Jindal's campaign manager Timmy Teepell said.
Jindal, the two term-Governor of the US state of Louisiana, is trailing far behind in the presidential race, having failed so far to be in the top 10 of the crowded 17 Republican presidential candidates.
