AL-BADR OPERATIVE, TWO CIVILIANS KILLED IN ENCOUNTER

A self styled battalion commander of a militant outfit and two civilians were killed on Saturday in an encounter in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir, a police spokesman said.
Self styled battalion commander of Al-Badr outfit Mohammad Sultan Bhat alias Usman, a resident of Riram, was killed in the encounter with army, which broke out in the wee hours today at Danwan Toosa meadow near Tangmarg, 50 kms from here, the spokesman said.
In the exchange of fire, two civilians - Nazir Ahmed Khan and Shafi Ahmad Khan, both farmers and residents of Ganwani also lost their lives, he said.
