A 22-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself at her house in Ram Darbar, Phase II. According to the police, the victim has been identified as Anu, who had recently done her postgraduation.
In the morning, when the victim did not open the door of her room, her father got suspicious and broke open the door and found her hanging. The victim was rushed to the Government Medical College and Hospital, Sector 32, where doctors declared her brought dead.
The police said no suicide note was recovered from the spot. The autopsy was conducted and the body handed over to her kin.
Inquest proceedings have been initiated at the Sector 31 police station.
