WHAT TO WATCH…WHAT TO SKIP?

Ready for the October fever, yeah! Well this month can burn a hole in your pocket because not only will you be spoilt for choice, you wouldn’t like to miss any of these movies. This month has maximum number of releases with some of the biggest films vying for the roost at the marquee.

Bollywood’s most expensive film till date, Endhiran - Robot with stars like Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai is finally releasing. This month is lucky as Mallika Sherawat’s movie Hissss, which kept us waiting for long, is also releasing. The snake woman finally heard her fans’ prayer.

Anjaana Anjaani couldn’t be pushed further so it’s going to one of the first releases of this month.



ENDHIRAN - ROBOT

He isn’t going anywhere. The superstar Rajinikanth is back on silver screen with Endhiran. Looking younger than his age and romancing an actress half his age, the actor plays a scientist and a robot in the film. Made on a whopping budget of approx Rs 175 crore, Endhiran is India’s most expensive film.

ANJAANA ANJAANI

Postponed because of Ayodhya case, this Priyanka Chopra-Ranbir Kapoor romantic flick will finally see the light of day. It’s a story of two strangers who embark on a journey later to find themselves falling for each other.

KHICHDI - THE MOVIE

A TV series made into a 35 mm caper, Khichdi - The Movie, like its small screen counterpart, continues the laugh riot with its foolish yet adorable characters Himanshu Parekh, Hansa Parekj, Jayshree, Bapu ji. In the movie Hansa’s brother wants a memorable legendary love story. Sounds funny, indeed!

CROOK: IT'S GOOD TO BE BAD

Based on racial attacks on Indian students in Australia, Crook: It's Good To Be Bad tells a story of a young lad, Emraan Hashmi, who goes to Australia for studies. According to director Mohit Suri, racism made him think that all other social evils are part of every human heart. It’s our choice to decide - is it good to be bad in today’s world or does it pay to be good?

AAKROSH

In a small town of Jhanjhar, Bihar, three youths have gone missing; two cops start the investigation. Directed by Priyadarshan the film Aakrosh is about the burning social issue of honour killings. Ajay Devgan gets to play a dalit who is a cop while Bipasha Basu again gets to play a de-glam role.

DUNNO Y NA JAANE KYUN...

Dunno Y Na Jaane Kyun... is touted as India's Brokeback Mountain and very few are pleased with the issue of homosexuality that the film claims to have dealt in a sensible way. The film tells the story of two men in a serious and committed gay relationship. Kapil Sharma makes his debut in this tale as the lead actor. The film also has Zeenat Aman and Helen in pivotal roles.

JHOOTHA HI SAHI

From the director of Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na comes Jhootha Hi Sahi, a light, quirky love story of a liar played by John Abraham. Director Abbas Tyrewala gets his beautiful wife Pakhi to play the lead role opposite John. The songs of the film are already chartbusters.

KNOCK OUT

Knock Out is a fast-paced thriller set in just two hours. Sanjay Dutt effortlessly uses his wit, his skills at hand-to-hand combat, and his love for stealth technology, to manipulate and trap his elusive target and makes Irrfan Khan a toy in his hands. Kangana Ranaut plays a journalist in the film.

RAMAYANA - THE EPIC

This Dussehra take your kids out to watch the animated 3-D film Ramayana - The Epic with voiceovers of Manoj Bajpai as Rama, Juhi Chawla as Sita, Ashutosh Rana as Raavan. The film is produced by Ketan Mehta and is directed by Chetan Desai.

With vengeance on her mind and venom in her fangs, Mallika plays a icchadhari naagin in this Bollywood-cum-Hollywood flick. When her lover of ages is captured by an American, Mallika moves to city in desperate search of him.

RAKTA CHARITRA

The part 1 of Rakta Charitra is releasing in October. Director Ram Gopal Varma didn’t want to edit his film as it is shot aesthetically and is a classic according to him. It is based on the real story of an infamous gangster-turned-leader Paritala Ravi, played by Vivek Oberoi.
