Foundation for Mother and Child Health and Reality Gives, working together to eliminate malnutrition in young Mumbai children, are producing a cook book as one of their fund raising activities. For this, they are sourcing recipes from famous city chefs, food bloggers and you. “We are looking for delicious Indian recipes which are easy to make. Perhaps it's your own invention, a family recipe or your cook's piece de resistance!” says Tara Ghosh, a British lawyer in Bombay and volunteer who is leading this project. The only request they have, however, is that the recipe should be simple enough to replicate at home and healthy considering the focus of the cause at hand.

The book has already garnered recipes from The Taj and Intercontinental Hotels, with many more promised by other leading restaurants across the country. Besides your recipes, they’re also looking for volunteers who can provide any kind of help with the book – page layouts, graphic design, photographs, distribution, copy.

They are looking to retail this cookbook online, at hotel bookshops and the usual bookstores. The plan is to get a sponsor to cover printing and design costs of the cookbook, so all the proceeds of each one sold will go directly to support the two NGOs.

Bon apetit!
