• Catherine's Palace | Russian Tsars' Summer Residence★彡
While browsing the net, I had come across this wonderful residence which I was ignorant about and sharing some pictures of it with you.

Here are the main transformations it had undergone:

In 1717, Catherine's Palace is the summer residence of the Russian tsars ordered by Catherine I of Russia and designed by the German architect Johann-Friedrich Braunstein.

In In 1733, Empress Anna commissioned Mikhail Zemtsov and Andrei Kvasov to expand the Catherine Palace.

And finally in May 1752, Empress Elizabeth, who found her mother's residence outdated and incommodious hence ordered her court architect Bartolomeo Rastrelli to demolish the old structure and replace it with a much grander edifice in a flamboyant Rococo style.
