Wife of Siyaram Silk Mills director arrested for smuggling diamonds inside ‘underwear’
The custom officials of Mumbai airport arrested Vihari Poddar, wife of prominent businessman and Siyaram Silk Mills director Abhishek Poddar on Thursday, when she was trying to smuggle golds and diamonds worth Rs 2.35 crore.
Vihari was detained at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport after she landed from Singapore.
According to reports, she was knowingly carrying some jewellery in her undergarments.After being interrogated by cops, she revealed that she has made 10 such trips in the recent past to smuggle jewellery.
She has been further remanded into judicial custody for 14 days.
