Ustad Sultan Khan Passes Away....

Renowned Sarangi player and singer Ustad Sultan Khan passes away on Sunday. The first to inform about this tragic news on a microblogging site was music composer Salim Merchant (of the Salim-Sulaiman composer duo).

"I lost my ustad - Ustad Sultan Khan, my guru my friend my idol. He passed away this afternoon. We will never have a sarangi maestro like him," he posted.

On learning about the news, singer Shaan instantly wrote, "Shocked..really sad.. Khansaab no more..."
Rahul Bose tweets "Ustad sultan khan saab had a huge heart & an impish sense of humour. He sang well too! Listen to him on the soundtrack of 'Mr and Mrs Iyer'."

The Padma Bhushan sarangi player and singer had many national and international collaborations to his name.
