London: A Muslim teenager was interrogated by British child protection services about possible links to the Islamic State after he used the word "eco-terrorist" in a French class, The Guardian reported on Wednesday. The boy (14) used the word during a lesson as part of a discussion at his school in central London about environmental activism, the report said. AFP

DALLAS: The family of a Muslim boy who got in trouble over a homemade clock mistaken for a possible bomb withdrew from his Dallas high school on Monday. Indian charged with slashing man in Singapore
Singapore: An Indian, along with six other Indian-origin persons, were on Wednesday charged with the slashing of a compatriot (52), permanently disfiguring his face, a report said. Koleth Abdul Nasir had allegedly threatened Liakath Ali, with injury, by saying "Last time, we should do you but you escaped; but this time round, we will do you, you watch out." PTI
Monkey owns right to his selfie: PETA
Washington: The copyright ownership fight over a “monkey selfie”, taken by a black macaque from a camera owned by a wildlife photographer four years ago in Indonesia, has now reached the court. PETA has filed a suit in a San Francisco court against photographer David J. Slater and his company, which both claim copyright ownership of the photos that the black macaque indisputably took. The suit demands to direct all proceeds from the monkey selfie to Naruto itself, PETA said. IANS
Hindu, Sikh leaders to share stage with Pope
New York: A Hindu community leader and two prominent Sikhs will be among a select group of inter-faith leaders who will participate in a prayer led by Pope Francis at the 9/11 memorial here. Uma Mysorekar, chief of the Hindu Temple Society of North America, Professor (University at Buffalo) Satpal Singh and his daughter Gunisha Kaur will participate in the Multireligious Meeting for Peace on Friday.
