Punjab News Tikshan Sud elected as BJP legislature party leader

Mr Tikshan Sud, who resigned as Punjab Parliamentary Affairs Minister along with four other BJP Ministers in the SAD-BJP government in the state recently, was today elected as the leader of the BJP legislature party.

Mr Sud would replace Mr Manoranjan Kalia, who had also resigned as Industries and Commerce Minister after his name figured in a Rs 1.5 crore corruption case. Mr Sud was earlier Deputy leader of the BJP legislature party.

Mr Sud was elected as the new leader of the legislature party in a meeting of all BJP MLAs here, BJP national general secretary J P Nadda told reporters after the meeting. Mr Arunesh Shakir, who had resigned as Chief Parliamentary Secretary (Food and Supplies), was elected as deputy leader of the BJP's legislature party.
